Wellness exams
Nose-to-tail, unhurried, narrated as we go. Puppy and kitten first visits include a "just hang out" lap of the building so the second visit isn't scary.
$89 · 40 minutesWildacre Animal Clinic · Richmond, Portland OR
Fear-free veterinary medicine for dogs, cats, rabbits — and the occasional bearded dragon — built around the patients who hide under the couch when the carrier comes out.
If it's urgent
Call us. A human answers until midnight, every single night — no phone tree, no "press 4". If Wildacre isn't the right place for this one, we'll say so in the first minute, and we'll call the emergency hospital ahead so they're expecting you by name.
What we do
Every appointment runs 40 minutes — double the industry habit — because rushed exams miss things and terrify cats.
Nose-to-tail, unhurried, narrated as we go. Puppy and kitten first visits include a "just hang out" lap of the building so the second visit isn't scary.
$89 · 40 minutesGiven on your lap, on the floor, or mid-treat — wherever your animal is bravest. We stagger boosters for the needle-shy rather than stacking four at once.
from $28Cleanings under anesthesia with a dedicated monitoring nurse. You get a written estimate first and a photo of every tooth after — the before-and-afters are addictive.
cleaning from $420Sick this morning, seen this afternoon. We hold four slots a day for the unexpected — the limping, the vomiting, the "he ate a sock, probably".
$129 · same dayOne surgeon, one patient at a time. Dr. Reyes calls you personally the moment they're awake — usually before you've finished your first anxious coffee.
spay/neuter from $360For the biters, the hiders, the shakers. A slow, structured plan — and Dr. Hollis has never once said "he's just being dramatic."
$110 · 60 minutesFear-free by design
Check in by text; we come get you when your room is ready. The lobby is for buying treats, not for stacking anxious dogs nose to nose.
Separate entrance, separate air handling, zero barking within earshot. Every feline room runs a pheromone diffuser and keeps the lights low.
The first two minutes of any visit belong to your pet: liver snacks, a sniff of everything, exam table optional — the floor works fine.
No mystery trips "to the back" for routine care. Whatever happens, you're there, and we narrate every step as we go.
The humans
Twelve people, four of them here since the day we opened in 2019. Everyone — front desk included — holds Fear Free certification.
Money, plainly
Every price below is real and current as of July 2026. Procedures get a written estimate before we start — and if anything changes midway, we stop and call before we continue. That's not a policy, it's a reflex.
Unlimited exams, 10% off everything else, and payment plans with zero credit check. Cancel whenever; nobody here will guilt you.
"Juniper used to shake so hard the carrier rattled. Three visits in, she walks through the cat entrance like she pays rent here. I didn't know a vet could do that."

Book online in about ninety seconds, or call and talk to Rosa at the front desk — she has opinions about which slot your dog will like best, and she's usually right.
