The maker.

First person · No retouching
Sólenne Vidal, Marseille studio · self-portrait, 2026

I photograph the moment just before a thing is understood — the half-second a face forgets it is being watched, the tide that hasn't decided to turn.

Trained in Porto, undone in Marseille. I work in available light, on film and digital, and I direct the room as carefully as I frame it. The picture is finished when nothing is performing.

I take commissions that leave space for restraint, and I keep the negatives.
