For people living with BPD — and the people who love them

Some days ask more of you than you have to give. This is what to do with them.

Ritual teaches real Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills — the same ones taught in DBT programs — in a free app that fits in your pocket. No waitlist, no diagnosis required to start, nobody at a front desk. Just the next skill, right when the moment needs it.

Free, always-available crisis resources are one tap away in every version of Ritual — never gated, never hidden.

A coach that's grounded in the skills, not just good intentions

When it's 2 a.m. and the right skill won't come to mind, Ritual's coach can walk through it with you — grounded in DBT, not off in some generic wellness direction. It's built into the free app, usage-capped so it can stay free.

Ask it to help you find a skill. It won't try to diagnose you, and it'll tell you plainly when a question is bigger than what an app can hold.

What's actually inside

Three things, always free

Ritual isn't a wellness app with DBT vocabulary sprinkled on top. It's three real tools, working together.

A course written to be read at 11 p.m., not in a classroom

Every lesson breaks a DBT skill into plain language — distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness. All of it is original, written for Ritual from the ground up, never lifted from a manual you'd need a library card to borrow.

A daily practice that looks like a habit, not homework

A simple diary card — name an emotion, note an urge, log the skill you reached for — takes less time than deciding what to watch tonight. It's there on the good days too, not only the hard ones.

One tab, always in the same place

Crisis resources live in the app shell itself — not three menus deep, not behind a login, not something we quietly ship in an update six months from now. They're built to load with no signal at all, because the moment you need them is not the moment to wait for a bar of reception.

Free, always-available crisis resources are one tap away — this is never gated or hidden.

Try it before you need it

Install Ritual now, while things are calm — so the skills and the crisis tab are already there the next time they're not.

What this is — and isn't

The whole truth about what Ritual is

It teaches skills, not therapy. Ritual teaches DBT skills. It is not therapy, and it's not a medical device — it won't tell you otherwise.

Free because it has to be. If cost is what's stood between you and skills training, that's the actual problem this exists to solve — and that's not a limited-time offer.

Original, start to finish. Every lesson is written from scratch for Ritual — the same skills, in our own words, never a copy of a published DBT manual.

Never a locked door. If you're in crisis right now, the resources built into Ritual are free, immediate, and need no account — in the free version, and every version there will ever be.

If this is you

You probably already know if this is for you

Maybe you've been on a waitlist for months. Maybe the closest DBT program is a two-hour drive, or full, or something you can't afford. Maybe "borderline" is a word you've mostly heard used as an insult, not a diagnosis. Maybe you just want to learn opposite action before your next hard Tuesday, not before your next appointment opens up. Ritual was built for the gap between needing this and being able to get it — for as long as that gap exists.

Questions, answered plainly

Before you start

Is Ritual therapy?

No. Ritual teaches DBT skills — it isn't therapy and isn't a medical device. If you're already working with a therapist, think of Ritual as something that sits alongside that, not instead of it.

What if I need help right now?

Right now, before you open anything: in the US you can call or text 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line), both free and available 24/7. Ritual's own Crisis tab has the same resources built into the app itself — free, no login, works even without a signal — but you don't need to install anything to reach a real person first.

Do I need a diagnosis to use it?

No. A formal BPD diagnosis, a suspicion, or plain curiosity about DBT are all reason enough to start.

Why is the core app free?

Because the whole point falls apart if cost is what keeps someone out. The course, the daily practice tools, and the crisis resources are free, and that isn't changing.

Where does the coach's advice come from?

It's grounded in DBT skills, not general wellness talk pulled from anywhere. It's built to help you find and apply a skill — not to diagnose you or make decisions for you.

Start whenever you're ready

You don't need a referral to start learning this

Ritual is free, it takes a couple of minutes to install, and it stays quietly on your phone for the day you actually reach for it.

And if today is one of the hard ones: the crisis tab is free and open right now, no account needed.
