Form & Field
Drawn in concrete. Resolved in light.
Selected Projects
A single board-marked concrete wall folds the hillside into a courtyard; everything else is glass and shadow.
A folded-plate timber roof shelters a working salt museum, lifting on slender steel where the marsh meets the tide.
An exposed post-and-beam frame becomes the furniture: a workplace that reads its own structure as a clear, legible diagram.
Cut into a disused marble quarry, a single oculus tracks the sun across raw stone — a room measured entirely in light.
A hundred-metre roof of thatch and rammed earth runs the dunes, opening to the Atlantic in a single uninterrupted line.
The Practice
We are an architecture and interiors studio that believes a building should be legible — that its structure, its light, and its making should explain themselves without apology. We draw in concrete and resolve in light.
Form & Field works at every scale, from the joint to the masterplan, with a small permanent team and a long list of trusted engineers, makers and craftspeople. We take a deliberately limited number of projects each year so that each one can be drawn, detailed and built with the attention it deserves. We do not chase signature; we pursue resolution.
Carrara House
Longitudinal section through the courtyard wall — scale 1:100. The roof loads a single line of structure; everything below it is allowed to be glass.

We take on a small number of projects each year. The earlier we draw together, the better the result — write to us with as little or as much as you have.
